Thy Little Ones, Dear Lord, Are We

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of visitors and work and all the Holiday prep. I have found myself more caught up then ever in the stress and emotion, which usually doesn't ever get to me. Maybe it is because all of a sudden life with a 2 year old and being 8 months pregnant is just a little more real than it used to be. All the normal things you have to achieve for the Holidays come amidst naps and tantrums and cuddles that can't just be set aside just because there are things to do. We also had the best 3 weeks of traveling and visitors, that gave us joy but threw us off our routine. And in the past 5 days of silence I have found myself anxious and emotional. Until today, where in the quiet of the morning reading a friends blog, I read this and find peace.
May it remind you like it did me to stop and remember who you are and what we are anticipating this time of year.

Thy Little Ones, Dear Lord, Are We

Thy little ones, dear Lord, are we,
And come Thy lowly bed to see;
Enlighten every soul and mind,
That we the way to Thee may find.

With songs we hasten Thee to greet,
And kiss the dust before Thy feet;
O blessèd hour, O sweetest night,
That gave Thee birth, our soul’s delight.

O draw us wholly to Thee, Lord,
Do Thou to us Thy grace accord,
True faith and love to us impart,
That we may hold Thee in our heart.

Until at last we too proclaim
With all Thy saints, Thy glorious Name;
In paradise our songs renew,
And praise Thee as the angels do.

a fun little toddler mishap that happened after not 3 seconds of walking into the house, hands full of groceries, Liam runs to the fridge grabs a bottle of hot sauce and chucks it onto the couch! Why? who knows? It seemed like the thing to do I guess in a 2 yr olds logic...
