The Last of the Looks of Fall

I know I gauge so much of life by the season and the weather but it is just the way things are in a changing climate. You stop and enjoy, and anticipate, and your attention is constantly drawn to the present knowing what the future will inevitable hold. We soaked up ever last bit of those 60 degree days and the bright yellow canopy, but it is not entirely sad to see it go. I know the future holds cold cold days, but also holidays, and magical snow, and a sweet little newborn baby I can't wait to hold!

Andrew and I have been enjoying some intentional tv-less evenings with the fire place going and it has been so nice. We talk about books we are reading, stories we hear, and even spent some nights painting and just rediscovering some creative spaces which where lost for a time.
Andrew is playing worship for a upcoming youth retreat for our church and this is a song we have had on repeat around here. I love David Crowder's lyrics.

How He Loves
He is jealous for me, loves like a hurricane, I am a tree
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy
When all of a sudden I am unaware of these afflictions
Eclipsed by glory and I realize just how beautiful You are
And how great Your affections are for me

And oh, how He loves us, oh
Oh, how He loves us, how He loves us all

He is jealous for me, loves like a hurricane, I am a tree
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy
When all of a sudden I am unaware of these afflictions
Eclipsed by glory and I realize just how beautiful You are
And how great Your affections are for me

Oh, how He loves, yeah, He loves us
Oh, how He loves us, oh, how He loves us
Oh, how He loves

And we are His portion and He is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes
If His grace is an ocean, we're all sinking

And heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest
I don't have time to maintain these regrets
When I think about the way

Oh, how He loves us, oh
Oh, how He loves us, how He loves all
How He loves

Yeah, He loves us, oh, how He loves us
Oh, how He loves us, oh how He loves
Oh, I love

Yeah, He loves us, yeah, He loves us
How He loves us, oh, how He loves us all
